Frequently Asked Questions

Here you’ll find a selection of questions we get asked all the time, some might seem obvious, but it’s worth having a quick read through.

Do I need to bring my passport?

Yes, you will need your passport to arrive in Portugal. And for EU citizens, don't forget your EU Health Card. It is also a good idea to bring a couple of photocopies of your passport with you. By law you have to carry ID in Portugal but you don't want to risk losing your passport. So leave it in the hotel safe and keep a photocopy with you. Visit Portugal's Guidelines for more information. Check that your passport is in date.

Will we have time to relax in the afternoons?

Absolutely, although this is an active walking holiday we feel that it’s also important that you have some time in the afternoons to unwind. You could have a drink in the hotel bar, take a swim or enjoy a massage in the Hotel’s Aqua Venus Spa.

If we arrive earlier than the holiday dates will we be still met at the airport?

Of course. We want to accommodate your travel plans as much as possible but please let us know your times and dates of arrival as soon as you can.  You would of course be responsible for your own meals and accommodation at the hotel during this period.

Can I arrive earlier or extend my stay?

Yes. Just let us know what dates you require and we'll arrange it or you.

Are there any steep climbs?

No. The walks will take in some gradual easy climbs but nothing too arduous.

Is this holiday suitable for children?

No, although teenage members of the family would be welcome if they feel they would enjoy this type of holiday.

How many miles will we cover each day?

Please take a look at our daily walk programme. We have found that our walks are just about perfect. The walks are classed as easy to moderate and are taken at a leisurely pace so we can take in and appreciate our surroundings.

Do I need to book in advance for treatments in the Hotel Spa?

Yes, please book at the reception for your Spa treatments the previous evening or on the morning that you require your treatment.
